The Up and Coming: Frank Fetti

NASAGANG recently had the chance to sit down with Boston's own up and coming artist
Frank Fetti.

Name: Frank Fetti
Age: 22
Hometown: Boston,MA

1.First off I want to thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to sit down in give us a piece of your mind. NASAGANG appreciate it a 1000!!!Tell NASAGANG and the world who you are and what your all about?

Frank Fetti:No problem. It’s my pleasure. The name is Frank Fetti and I’m from Boston,Mass. I’m hip hop’s best kept secret. I don’t got nothing too crazy to say. The music speaks for itself. I’m not here to save the world. I just wanna get better at what I do and please my fans at the same time.

2.Where do you draw your inspirations from?

Frank Fetti: I draw my inspiration from everything around me. I keep my ears and eyes open at all times. I’d say my biggest form of inspiration is the media and pop culture in general. I make sure to listen to everything people say. Someone might say something funny and think nothing of it. I’ll write it down and turn it into a song or a punch line in a song. All rappers do it. You gotta be in tune with pop culture or you will get to a point where you have nothing to write about.

3.What’s separates you from other?

Frank Fetti: I know what It takes to get where I wanna be. I know that putting my songs on youtube and twitter is not all it takes to be successful in this industry. Surviving in this industry takes a lot of hard work and patients. Everyone wants to be a rapper in this day and age. It’s like the thing to do. It’s so easy to throw a song on the internet and say you’re an artist. Artists are defining their success by how many plays they get on youtube. All that shit means nothing to me. My main priority is getting better at what I do. That’s what keeps me motivated. I don’t care about people telling me my songs are hot. I’ve heard that a million times. I want the general public to come to an agreement and tell me my shit is hot. If not. I’m doing this for nothing.

4. Coming from a city such as Boston, where the hip hop scene is still trying to break into national spotlight. What do you feel you can bring to the game to make that happen?

Frank Fetti: First of all I want to say that there is a lot of talented musicians in Boston. The reason I think Boston hasn’t really had a mainstream rap act is because most artists out here don’t represent Boston as a whole. It’s a lot of gangsta shit on the underground tip. But that’s not what people think of when they think of Boston. People outside of Boston don’t even know we got hoods in the bean. I’m from Mattapan. I was in this program called “Metco” where they bus inner city kids out to suburban public schools. I went to school in Wellesley, Massachusetts; one of the richest towns in the country. Big Papi,Danny Ainge, and Ray Allen all have houses out there just to name a few. They bussed me out there for 8 hours for school and then brought me back to the hood. What artists from Boston forget is that we have to bring the people to us. You can’t do that by being one sided. If your gonna represent your city. You gotta represent all of it. You can find me in Mattapan square eating at the house of pizza or see me in Copley in hard bottoms and a button up. You can catch me playing beer pong with my white boys in the burbs or catch me at my mans crib on Colombia road burning it down. It’s the best of both worlds. That’s Boston to the fullest. If you live in Boston you can’t avoid it and if your trying to avoid it then your not gonna get the love from this city that you think you deserve.

 5. Right know you’re in the middle of creating what seems to be a heavy hitter with the S.D.A mixtape. Can you tell NASAGANG what is the motivation behind the mixtape?

Frank Fetti: The real motivation behind this mixtape is the sex, drugs, and rock n roll lifestyle. Put hip hop and rock n roll in a pot and you got S.D.A. I’m a huge fan of 80’s classic rock. If I’m not listening to hip hop that’s what I’m listening to. I love the showmanship of rock n roll. I think hip hop needs to bring that back. I wanna see a light shows, explosions, and anything else you can think of that makes a great show. Artists are forgetting that this is entertainment. Don’t just go on stage and spit a 16. Make sure the audience feels what you felt when you were writing that verse. That’s what S.D.A. is all about. There’s something on there for everyone.

Before I go I just wanna thank everyone who has shown me support in the last couple of years. Download that S.D.A. ON OCTOBER 11TH! You will not be disappointed. And follow me on twitter bitches!
